St. Clair County Community College presents the art show “Renewed” from
Monday, Jan. 28, through Friday, Feb. 22, in the Fine Arts Galleries on
the Port Huron campus.

The show features 3-D sculptures by SC4 alumnus Tom Pyrzewski of St.
Clair. The galleries are open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

Pyrzewski studied for two years at SC4 then transferred to the College for
Creative Studies in Detroit, where he earned a bachelor of fine arts
degree in digital cinema. In May, Pyrzewski earned his master of fine arts
degree in sculpture from Wayne State University in Detroit.

He is a 3-D design instructor at Wayne State University and the chief
preparator for the Elaine L. Jacob Gallery and the Community Arts Gallery
at Wayne State. Pyrzewski has a studio in St. Clair Township.
The SC4 show is a combination of clothing and house paint placed over
objects that are natural and man-made. Pyrzewski said, “The 12 pieces
challenge the viewer to contemplate the interconnection between human and
nature.”

Maltese 2006 

Thomas Pyrzewski will be creating a professional level street painting at

the 2007 Detroit Festival of the Arts on June 8,9 and 10.  There were 72

submissions and only 5 were accepted.

Thomas Pyrzewski recently completed his MFA with a focus in sculpture from Wayne State University.  Before WSU, Pyrzewski received a BFA in Digital Cinema from the College for Creative Studies and also studied Graphic Design at St. Clair County Community College. THE EXPERIENCE EMPLOYS SYMBOLISM TO COMMUNICATE EMOTIONS AND THE INTANGIBLE; THE PERFORMERS EXPLORE THE PSYCHE THROUGH VIGNETTES, UTILIZING STRONG ALLURING SENSORY EXPERIENCES TO TRANSPIRE A NONLINEAR DISPLAY OF CONSCIOUSNESS.
